The DTU or Delhi technology university also referred as Delhi College of Engineering (DCE)’s departments of chemical technology and textile technology were moved out N-block to mark the foundation of Indian Institute of Technology Delhi at Hauz Khas, South Delhi. Thus, DTU is considered as mother institution of IITs Delhi. The campus of 325 acres with beautiful surroundings and various monuments in nearby area like the Qutb Minar and Lotus Temple. The campus is very close to other universities like All India Institute of Medical science.
The campus have beautiful big beautiful garden, lawns including residential complex and wide road. Moreover, it has its own water supply and backup electricity supply. It has big student residential zone with 14 hostels, 11 for boys and 3 for girls. And, the best part is there is separate apartment for married students with complete security.
Admission Process
Admission to all graduate and postgraduate programs are conducted through common entrance exam. The process of IITs admission also known as Joint entrance exams or JEE. Like other universities, there are some rules and regulations to seat in the entrance exam like student must have 60% or above in 12th with science stream and the age limit is 25. There are some benefits for reserve category like students with 55% and science background can apply and seat for the entrance exam. Age limit is 30 to apply for IIT JEE.
Admission to postgraduate programs are made through degree specific admission tests. Like, For M. Tech degree, the GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is conducted. For M. Sc. Joint Admission also known as JAM is conducted and admission to management degrees is conducted through Joint Management Entrance Test or JEMT.
