Workshop on Psychological interventions in Chronic Pain
Live demonstration of realistic issues in the area demonstrating complex interactions between chronic pain symptoms as well as emotional issues explored by an experienced Psychiatrist who has worked nearly a decade in this specific field in UK.
We will then continue discussion to include pharmacological management. Thereafter, specific psychotherapeutic approaches would be demonstrated live by a faculty Psychotherapist trained to administer CBT(Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), ACT(Acceptance & Commitment Therapy), Mindfulness and CFT(Compassion focused therapy) in chronic pain. These modes of therapies will be demonstrated live on actors & actresses who will play role as real patients according to the script given to them by a team of professionals.
The focus of the session would be to inform how specialist services deal with complex cases as well as how a pain physician can adapt their own practice to suit these patients' need.
Theories will be dealt with at a level comfortable for an average competent pain physician and will include must know and good to know issues.
