IITF 2018: Significantly, the fair has registered the foreign participation from countries including Afghanistan, China, Hong Kong, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Myanmar, Nepal, Netherlands, South Africa, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey, Tunisia, Vietnam and UAE.IITF 2018: With the theme of ‘Rural Enterprises in India’, the 38th edition of India International Trade Fair 2018 commencing at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from November 14 to November 27, 2018, will be a special occasion for Delhiites to participate. But they may not be able to visit it if they have not made preparations in advance to reach the place early. The reason being that this year entry of merely 25000 have been fixed and if the number of visitors touch this mark even in the morning hours, others will not be allowed to enter despite having special passes. Because this year's Trade Fair is restricted to be held in merely one-fourth of the erstwhile area due to ongoing constructions work. The flagship event organised by India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) will be inaugurated by Minister of State for Commerce & Industry, CR Chaudhary. Notably, ITPO has earmarked initial four days from November 14 to 17 for the business visitors. The ITPO has facilitated three entry points for visitors: from Gate 1 near Bhairo Marg, the Gate 8 near Mathura Road and the Gate 10 near Pragati Maidan Metro station. Although ITPO has made extensive efforts to ensure representation of all important sectors of IITF as well as foreign participants in the available space, around 800 participants from States/Government Departments, domestic and International companies will be able to take part. the fair has registered the foreign participation from countries including Afghanistan, China, Hong Kong, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Myanmar, Nepal, Netherlands, South Africa, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey, Tunisia, Vietnam and UAE. Government group such as MSME, CAPART, Ministry of Social Justice, Ministry of Minority Affairs, KVIC, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, National Jute Board and TRIFED will also participate in the event. Sectors like Cosmetics, Health, Electronics, Kitchen wares, Computer peripherals, mobile phones, Food Products, Leather and textiles and multi product will showcase their product in their stall during the fair. ITPO, the premier trade promotion agency of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India is committed to showcase excellence achieved by the country in diverse fields especially trade and commerce. ITPO provides a wide spectrum of services to trade and industry and acts as a catalyst for growth of India's trade. ITPO approves holding of international trade fairs in India and regulates holding of various expositions in India primarily to avoid any duplication of efforts while ensuring proper timing. It manages India's world class exhibition complex which is constantly upgraded to keep it in a high standard of readiness. Spread over 123 acres of prime land in the heart of India's capital, New Delhi, Pragati Maidan offers about 61,290 sq. mtrs. of covered exhibition space in 16 halls, besides 10,000 sq. mtrs. of open display area. The state-of-the-art exhibition halls have enhanced the appeal of Pragati Maidan as the ideal center for an increasing number of fair organisers and business visitors from different parts of the world. ITPO has an extensive infrastructure as well as marketing and information facilities that are availed by both exporters and importers. ITPO's regional offices at Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata and Mumbai, through their respective profile of activities, ensure a concerted and well coordinated trade promotion drive throughout the country. With the commissioning of the state-of-the-art Chennai Trade Centre (CTC) in January 2001 and the Trade Centre Bangalore in September 2004, ITPO has successfully completed the first phase of the setting-up of modern exhibition facilities outside Delhi. The Chennai Trade Centre which addresses a long-felt need for a permanent and modern exhibition venue in Tamil Nadu, has already emerged as a hub of trade-related activities in the region.
